Week 9 (3/5/2025 - 3/11/2025)

    Hi everyone, welcome to my 9th blog! This is the Week 1 post for CST 338 Software Design.

  • WK01HW02 - Reflection
    • Two of the assignments this week were to solve CodingBat challenges. Below are my answers to the questions posed in Canvas for this section of the WK01HW02 assignment.
    • Did you plan it out or throw code at it? 
      • Honestly, I would say both. Although, the code I "threw at it" was at least thought out and had the idea of what I was trying to do. Sometimes, I would have the right idea but type something incorrectly (> instead of >=, for example) and fixing that would allow the code to flawlessly pass all tests.
    • What worked?
      • The combination of the above problem solving methods was mostly effective, as sometimes I would quickly code something that came up in my head, and that would get me to solve most of the problems first try.
    • What did NOT work?
      • Honestly, nothing "did not" work. I really did not have a lot of trouble with these assignments. I guess if there was anything that "did not work" it was spamming the "Go" button over and over again... haha.
    • How many tries did it take?
      • I was able to solve most problems in the first three tries, with a few problems taking more than three. There were a few that caused hiccups, but I rarely spent more than five minutes per problem.

Week 24 (6/18/2025 - 6/22/2025)

       (Click on READ MORE for better formatting)      Hi everyone, welcome to my 24th  blog!  This is the Week 8 post for CST 363 Introduction to Database Systems. Briefly summarize what you consider to be the three (3) most important things you learned in this course. How to query in MySQL and MongoDB, including select, insert, update, and delete. This also includes advanced querying techniques, such as subselect. Understanding schema structure of MySQL and MongoDB. After all, for the above to work you need a schema to create/use the database and establish table structures! Creating EER diagrams can also be bundled into this section as it is related to schema creation. How to take database systems and turn them into real-world solutions.
